Airlines use new "smart" boarding techniques

Airplanes only make money in the air, and if they can reduce turn around time from an hour to 40 minutes, they could get more flights in a day. While some airlines are using mathematical models, some have decided to just let people sit where they want. Full Story

Being a Flight Attendant I have MANY opinions regarding this so-called " SMART"  boarding techniques,
First: Common Courtesy is totally out the window when it comes to boarding a plane.
The plane is not going to leave without you if you are in the boarding area.
There is no reason to be the first on the plane. I swear no special prizes!
Second: First Class Passengers should be boarded LAST.
They sit in the front of the plane everyone has to walk past them.
A plane should be boarded from back to front just like a Van.
Third: Don't get on the plane till boarding is almost over if you want till you "HAVE  TO" sit down.
Yes, you are going be in this little tube with all these people for the
next 1-4 hours, standing in aisle for 20 minutes, in everyone's way flight crew and other
passengers is not going to make that much difference.
A better idea is to walk around the airport before you get on the plane,
instead of sitting in the waiting area.
That's my two cents from a Flight Attendant....

I agree Cricket.  Plus I think carry on baggage should be eliminated.  Just think how much faster people could get on and off a plane if they didn't have to stand there for 10-minutes looking at each other after the plane lands waiting to get their bags.
It's so annoying.
Just check all the bags, you have to walk through or near the baggage claim area in most airports anyway.
