FREE PERSONAL TAX PREPARATION AT LIBERTY TAX SERVICES
IN LA MESA
Blood Donors Offered Free Tax Preparation & Free Lunch
Blood donors who participate at the Liberty Tax Services Blood Drive, 6169 Lake Murray Blvd., La Mesa, on Thursday, March 29, 12 to 5 p.m. will be thanked by the tax preparers there with free tax preparation and a free lunch. The San Diego Blood Bank bloodmobile will be parked in the parking lot for this drive.
"Though donating blood is not tax deductible, Liberty Tax Service is recognizing this charitable deduction in a very unique way," said Lynn Stedd of the San Diego Blood Bank. "When you give blood, you make a difference in life in as meaningful a way as you do when you make a monetary contribution to a non-profit organization."
Blood donors are also encouraged to join the blood bank’s new Donor Difference loyalty program, where members are entitled to great new benefits, including the ability to track their total cholesterol, blood pressure and pulse. Members will also earn points for each donation that can be redeemed on the blood bank’s new online store.
Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in generally good health and weighs at least 110 pounds may qualify to donate blood. To make an appointment call 1-800-4MY-SDBB or visit www.sandiegobloodbank.org.
