Luncheon to Recognize San Diegans Who Enrich the Lives of Less-Fortunate Seniors WHAT: Senior Community Centers will host the eleventh annual Heroes Luncheon to honor local residents and organizations that make a difference in the lives of San Diego’s seniors living in poverty. The luncheon, presented by Kelly Capital, will help raise money for various services that benefit low-income seniors, including housing assistance and nutrition programs. The luncheon is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year with more than 800 corporate and community leaders expected to attend. Individuals and organizations recognized at the event will include a volunteer hero, a community hero, an advocacy hero and a senior hero. Each award recipient has contributed to restoring pride and dignity to the lives of San Diego’s low-income seniors. Senior Community Centers is a nonprofit agency helping low-income seniors survive in San Diego by providing meals, social, medical and mental health services, homeless and housing assistance, and cultural activities.
