The 6th Annual California Walk for Recovery, a non-competitive walk that celebrates recovery from substance abuse, is scheduled for 8:00 am on Saturday, April 5, 2008.
The three-mile course will start and finish near Quince Street and Balboa Drive on the west side of Balboa Park and will include a walking tour of the park’s lush, historic grounds with music and entertainment along the route.
Featuring a theme of “Together We Can,” the California Walk for Recovery will bring awareness and raise funds for substance abuse recovery and mental health services for men, women, children and families in San Diego County. Walkers are encouraged to join a team, form a team or register as an individual and collect pledges.
The event will also feature a post-walk festival with numerous exhibits, fun entertainment, refreshments and will run until 11:00 am. All registered participants receive a great event tee shirt.
