SAN DIEGO, CA – On May
7th, hundreds of mom’s will gather for Mamafest featuring LUNA film festival to celebrate and support
motherhood. Women
will have the opportunity to eat, drink, shop and learn more about being the
best mothers they can be. Mamafest festivities will take place on Wednesday, May
7th, at the Temple Sol El in Cardiff
by the Sea, from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Mamafest
will bring moms together in an event to share new resources and tools that will
support them through motherhood. The
evening will entail a series of mini-lectures given by a wide variety of
professionals who specialize on topics that pertain to motherhood. Additionally, there will be a marketplace for
vendors who specialize in mommy products or services, as well as a raffle. One hundred
percent of the money from the raffle will go toward the Postpartum
Health Alliance and the Breast Cancer Fund.
Among
the special guest speakers attending are Dr. Christine Wood, M.D., FAAP, author of “How to Get Kids to Eat Great and Love It”, Dr.
Nicholas Levy M.D., FAAP, who will discuss techniques for helping babies and
toddlers change their sleeping habits, Juju Rodrigues, founder of Aesthetic
Professionals Alliance, Lisa Druxman, founder of Stroller Strides, and many
more. Presentations will cover topics such as “Balancing Work and
Motherhood”, “Brining Sexy Back” and “Sleep Baby Sleep”. Two showings of the
LUNAFEST film festival will add a new experience to this year’s event.

Mommy Marketplace is designed to create a great shopping experience where moms
can buy products, learn about services and find out about new opportunities. La
Costa Resort and Spa, as well as local “mommy owned” businesses including
Arbonne International and Silpada Jewelry Designs, will be present at the
event.
Mamafest
is hosted by Stroller Strides, a San Marcos-based fitness company that serves
new mothers by helping them get fit after pregnancy. With their corporate office located in San Diego and a base of
over 3,000 new moms, Stroller Strides hosts the annual event to celebrate and
support women through their experience as a mom and to help raise awareness and
funds for PHA and the Breast Cancer Fund.

LUNAFEST
is a national traveling festival of short films by…for…about women. The
festival was established in 2000 by LUNA, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar
for Women, to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for
women’s issues and support worthy women’s nonprofit organizations. LUNAFEST
