1-4pm, visitors are invited to tour the historic gardens, try their hand at historic crafts
and skills, and attempt to refine their gambling techniques with old fashioned games of
chance. In addition, there will be the opportunity to see ladies having their hair
arranged in old fashioned styles, learn historic dances, and even attend a presentation
that emphasizes the dangers of childbirth in the 1800’s. There will also be live
entertainment throughout the day with a demonstration of historic dances from 4 to
5pm by the parks dance group, Los Bailadores. The afternoon will be climaxed by “A
Look at History through Fashion” featuring volunteers and park employees wearing
reproduction historic clothing from 5-6pm.
According to the Woman’s History Museum’s motto, a “Well Behaved Woman Rarely
Made History!” So come spend the afternoon with park volunteers and other women’s
