To benefit the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation
Gaslamp Quarter, San Diego, CA – Saddle up and skedaddle to the Eighth Annual Fall Back Festival, a Children’s Cultural and Historic Street Faire, in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter. This year’s educational, fun-filled event will occur on Sunday, November 2nd, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM in front of the William Heath Davis House at 4th Avenue and Island Street. Each year as the clock turns back an hour, the Gaslamp Quarter falls back in time to the days when Bum the Dog and the outlaws roomed the streets! The little kiddies will go plum crazy after they partake in heaps of historical delights! Take a tour around town on hay ride or put on your chaps and giddy-up on a pony ride, but beware of those gunslingin’ bandits in the wild-west shootout! If your belly starts to rumble chow down on finger-licking goodies or enter the pie and ice cream eating contests to win all kinds of loot! If the little ones still aren’t tuckered out watch a demonstration of antique farm equipment and see an old-fashioned blacksmith. Afterwards, head on over to the puppet stage for some action-filled puppet shows, authentic Native American dancing and storytelling. Kick up your heels and swing your partner ‘round the square to the rootin’ tootin’ sounds of the western bands performing on stage. Adults and children can join in this shindig for only $5.00 and baby buckaroos under two are free. The event proceeds will benefit the Gaslamp Quarter Historical Foundation, to assist in the continued effort to preserve the history of the Gaslamp Quarter and San Diego for years to come.
