Poway, CA – The City of Poway is hosting the annual Old-Fashioned Fourth of July celebration on Friday, July 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Old Poway Park, 14134 Midland Road. This event is co-sponsored by the Old Poway Park Action Committee. Admission is free.
Entertainment will include live performances by the Poway Dixiestrutters, Q4Tay, the Jackstraws, Cowboy Jack, the Heritage Dancers, and the Pomerado Community Band. The Poway Lions Club will offer an old-fashioned picnic lunch with proceeds benefiting local charities. The Poway Woman’s Club will host a traditional ice cream social with root beer floats, sundaes, and apple pie.
Other activities include an antique quilting display, craft market, blacksmith demonstrations, children’s crafts and old-fashioned games, face painting, historical cannon demonstrations, model train displays, train rides, historical gun fighting re-enactments, and mock train robberies. The Heritage Museum and Nelson House will be open with patriotic décor, educational memorabilia, and demonstrations.
