McCarthy, who describes himself as a “working guy from the Boston area who’s been writing poetry since the mid-60s,” has won “Best Loved Poet” in the Boston Poetry Awards and “Best Spoken Word” and “Best Humorous Poet” in the Cambridge Poetry Awards.
His performances in the National Poetry Slam and on tour have become the stuff of legend. Loved by fans and admired by the nations most influential artists, McCarthy is must see performer.
He will present in the Museum of the Living Artist at the 2008 Poetry & Art Series on Wednesday, July 16. Show starts at 6:30 p.m. $8, free for members.
Joining McCarthy will be San Diego poets Gabriela Anaya Valdepeña and Chris Vannoy. Their combinations of words and visual art will once again grace the museum.
