A Dramatic Presentation on Empowering AIDS Orphans to Change Africa
SAN DIEGO – Audiences everywhere are inspired and greatly moved by the presentation Revolution, a compelling production featuring film, multimedia and an address by humanitarian David Youngren. The presentation shows how ordinary people can make a difference in the lives of children left orphaned as a result of the world AIDS crisis. Two FREE events are scheduled in San Diego in August. Carlsbad Dove Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane in Carlsbad, is the host of the first event on Thursday, August 14 at 7:00 p.m., while the second event is held on Thursday August 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Flower Hill Cinema, 2603 Via De La Valle, Del Mar.
The AIDS pandemic has left an estimated 15 million children orphans, 80% of whom—12 million—live in sub-Saharan Africa. Many of these children, in addition to be being without parents, left susceptible to abuse and exploitation, are stigmatized by society because of their association with AIDS, and, as a result, denied some or all of the basic necessities of life: food, shelter, clothing, education and health care.
Revolution is a unique and compelling presentation using film, sound and multimedia. The presentation follows two boys from the time they were found on the streets begging, having lost their parents to AIDS, to when they are given a new beginning and a new home through the initiatives of youth in the US and Canada. David Youngren, an international speaker, also shares the extraordinary vision on how to bring about an end to poverty in Africa, and how each of us can get involved and make difference.
